Why We Created ForSomethingMore
We created this site for two main reasons.
First…because we love to learn through off the beaten path adventure family travel. And, we love to share what we’ve learned during our travels with others. We believe it is this learning and sharing process that makes the world a more understanding, caring, equitable and peaceful place.
Second…because we hope to inspire others to travel as a family. While we throughly realize traveling with children in tow is a different experience than traveling pre-children, we are here to say that with the proper planning, it is indeed possible, and in countless ways it is a uniquely and thoroughly satisfying experience.
As Mark Twain so aptly said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime”, thus we believe it is especially important for children to travel from as early an age as possible.
Why This Site is Called “ForSomethingMore”
Put simply, when we travel we are always looking ForSomethingMore than the typical tourist traps that are so easily found on mainstream travel sites. Instead, we seek experiences that allow us to connect with local people and thus local culture.
We believe, life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
What Is Our Purpose?
